Demand for hybrid cars in Ukraine hits almost two-year high

As many as 1,792 passenger cars with hybrid engines were registered in Ukraine in October 2023, which is a record figure for the last 22 months.

The Ukrainian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Ukrautoprom) said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Last month, 1,792 hybrid cars (HEVs and PHEVs) were added to the Ukrainian car fleet. This is a record figure for the last 22 months. The share of new cars in this number was 59%," the post said.

In the segment of new passenger cars, the leader of the hybrid market in October was the Nissan Qashqai - 207 vehicles. The second place went to the Toyota RAV-4 - 151 vehicles, and the third most popular hybrid car was the Toyota Corolla Cross - 102 vehicles.

The top three imported used hybrid cars in Ukraine are the Ford Fusion US (58 vehicles), the Toyota Prius (53) and the Ford C-Max (50).

Since the beginning of 2023, 13,800 hybrid passenger cars have been registered for the first time in Ukraine (8,900 new cars and 4,900 used cars).
