Four new crossing checkpoints may open on Ukraine-Poland border
The head of the Ukrainian government announced this during a joint briefing with Tusk in Kyiv on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Our government and our country remain committed to developing border infrastructure and our logistics," said Shmyhal.
He informed that he and Tusk have discussed and seek to implement joint border control routine, exchange of border crossing data, and also continue modernization of checkpoints.
"In addition, we discussed the establishment of four new checkpoints in addition to the currently operating 14," he emphasized.
Shmyhal also offered the prime minister of Poland to explore the possibility of the Polish side participating in the construction of the Krakow - Lviv - Brody - Rivne highway.
"This autobahn should be a continuation of the longest Polish highway, A4, which in turn is a continuation of the German autobahn," the prime minister explained.
He emphasized that Polish businesses can join the initiative "and we invite construction on concessional terms."
"This can be another story of success and mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries as early as this year," emphasized the head of the Ukrainian government.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, since the outset of the full-scale war, Poland has provided Ukraine with weapons and equipment worth almost $3.5 billion.
