Baltic customs authorities agree on coordinated application of sanctions against Russia and Belarus

The heads of the customs services of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia have agreed on unified control during the implementation of the European Union's sanctions against Russia and Belarus.
The Lithuanian broadcaster LRT reported this with reference to the Customs Department, Ukrinform reported.
The agreement confirms the declaration signed by the prime ministers of the Baltic states on December 20 last year. The customs authorities of the Baltic states agreed to strengthen control over sanctioned goods exported to Russia and Belarus or subsequently transiting through them to third countries. For example, they plan to require a declaration from the manufacturer of the goods.
As reported, last week the relevant ministers of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia supported the decision to include Russian and Belarusian grain in the EU sanctions package.
