At a meeting in Shanghai with representatives of Chinese business circles, First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha called on them to take a more active part in assisting Ukraine and developing trade and investment ties.

This was reported by the Ukrainian MFA’s press service, according to Ukrinform.

Sybiha briefed representatives of 13 Chinese state-owned and private companies about the measures taken by the Ukrainian government to ensure the efficient operation of the economy amid Russia’s armed aggression. He noted, in particular, the successful experience in unblocking logistics routes and ensuring freedom of navigation in the Black Sea, which will facilitate the development of international trade.

"The First Deputy Minister briefed the participants about the positive dynamics in bilateral trade and called on Chinese companies to take a more active part in helping Ukraine and, in particular, developing trade and investment relations. The possible participation of international business in projects to rebuild Ukraine was also discussed," the MFA said.

In turn, representatives of Chinese business circles spoke about their activities in the Ukrainian market, emphasizing their desire to enhance work with Ukrainian partners and invest in specific projects in Ukraine.

The parties agreed on mutual participation of business representatives in exhibitions in Ukraine and China.

As Ukrinform reported, on June 5, First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Sun Weidong held political consultations.
