France to provide EUR 200M for restoring Ukraine’s critical infrastructure

"A Grant Agreement has been signed in Paris between the government of the French Republic and the government of Ukraine to promote the restoration and support of critical infrastructure and priority sectors of Ukraine's economy. The purpose of the agreement is to attract grant funds from the government of the French Republic in the amount of EUR 200 million, which will be directed to the reconstruction and restoration of critical infrastructure," the statement reads.

The Ministry of Economy says EUR 60 million from this amount will be directed to support the energy sector.

According to the terms of the agreement, the funds are intended for the enterprises that will invest in critical infrastructure toward Ukraine’s recovery. In particular, this is about sectors such as health care, infrastructure, energy, agriculture, water supply and sanitation, waste processing, demining, housing, and digital technologies.

Projects in other sectors of the economy will be considered individually.

As reported, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Vice President of the World Bank Antonella Bassani and Vice President of the International Finance Corporation Alfonso Garcia Mora signed a memorandum of support in improving Ukraine’s housing market.
