Ukraine, Norway to cooperate in energy sector
That’s according to the Ukrainian ministry’s press service, Ukrinform reports.
"The memorandum concluded by the two ministers lays down cooperation in the construction of decentralized generation capacilties and assessment of the small hydropower generation potential. Also among the priorities is the exchange of best practices and innovative technology toward energy transition," the statement says.
Cooperation in the field of natural gas is also envisaged.
The parties also discussed the upcoming visit of the Norwegian side to Kyiv and the holding of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Norwegian Commission on Trade, Economic and Business Cooperation, and held a meeting in Berlin with representatives of Norwegian business (including Scatec, Fenix Repower, Bergen Engines, Innovation Norway).
The Ministry of Energy noted that since Russia’s full-scale invasion, Norway has provided Ukrainian energy companies with 42 shipments of energy equipment (453 tonnes), which included power generators, transformers, high-voltage and specialized equipment.
As reported, Norway has pledged civil and military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 75 billion kroner (EUR 6.5 billion) for 2023-2027.
