Zelensky signs bill on single roaming zone with EU into law
That's according to the Verkhovna Rada's press service, Ukrinform reports.
"The President of Ukraine has signed the Law of Ukraine 'On the Introduction of Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding the Implementation of European Union Legislation on Roaming' (Bill No. 10265)," the statement reads.
The parliament adopted the bill to fulfill one of the conditions of Ukraine's European integration in the field of electronic communications. The document foresees the creation of a common roaming area between Ukraine and the EU, which will facilitate the free movement of Ukrainians and EU nationals within the common roaming area and allow them to enjoy the benefits of the RLAH mode (Roam Like At Home) without having to pay additional charges.
In addition, this law significantly improves the investment climate for businesses in the field of electronic communications. Ukrainian business entities will receive a high degree of trust, working according to uniform rules with European partners in accordance with EU legislation, the report said.
The law also ensures effective cooperation with the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) and fulfillment of the conditions for Ukraine to obtain the regime of the internal market with the EU in the field of electronic communications.
The Ukrainian parliament approved the law on May 22, 2024.
