Parliament approves bill on creating register of biofuel production units

The Verkhovna Rada has approved at first reading a bill to create a register of production units that use biofuels as the only type of fuel.
MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
According to him, 279 MPs voted in favor of corresponding bill No. 9597.
The register of production units that use biofuels as the only type of fuel will be created to administer the procedure for establishing a zero carbon tax rate. The register will be established by the Cabinet of Ministers.
To be included in the register, the owners of biofuel production units will have to submit applications in electronic form with information about the units: its name, location and capacity.
As reported, on June 4, the Verkhovna Rada approved law No. 3356-d in its entirety on the mandatory share of liquid biofuels (biocomponents) in the transport sector.
