Japan ready to host Ukraine Mine Action Conference – Economy Ministry
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said this at a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as part of the G7 Summit held in Italy on June 13-15 this year, the Ukrainian Economy Ministry's press service said.
"Japan is a key partner of Ukraine in the field of humanitarian demining. The country has allocated more than $70 million (in equivalent) for relevant machinery and equipment, as well as for capacity building in mine action," the report reads.
In addition, Japan actively shares its experience, organizes the training of Ukrainian specialists, and works on the possible entry into the Ukrainian market of manufacturers of demining equipment and construction machinery, particularly for the localization of production.
Switzerland will host the Ukraine Mine Action Conference this year. It will be held in Lausanne on October 16-18. More than 70 countries and international organizations are to be invited to attend.
