Government hopes to receive $2.2B from IMF this month - PM
The head of government announced this on his Telegram channel, Ukrinform reports.
"We count on support from the IMF Executive Board at the end of this month, whose decision will bring Ukraine $2.2 billion within the EFF program worth $15.6 billion," he wrote.
Shmyhal noted that during his meeting with Gopinath, he thanked her for the successful work on the fourth review of the EFF program. At the same time, both parties discussed the course of reforms and the implementation of structural benchmarks that formed the basis of Ukraine's "Reforms Matrix."
"We paid special attention to macroeconomic issues. I welcomed the decision of the G7 countries to send Ukraine $50 billion that will be repaid using interest from frozen Russian assets. We expect the funds to come this year. This will strengthen the economic capacity of our state in countering Russian aggression," Shmyhal said.
He also thanked the IMF for its consistent support, which helps Ukraine stand and continue the struggle for freedom and democratic values.
