Defence Procurement Agency is largest customer of drones in Prozorro
Ukrinform reports that the Ministry of Defence has made the announcement.
The Defence Procurement Agency is the largest customer of drones in the Prozorro system. According to the electronic public procurement system, since the beginning of 2024, DJI Mavic 3E and 3T drones have been purchased through competitive bidding for UAH 2.5 billion. This figure is more than 40% of the total value of drone deals in competitive procurement on Prozorro.
"In modern warfare, superiority often determines the outcome, so the procurement of drones is one of our key priorities. In order for our military to have everything they need on time, we must use resources efficiently. During the procurement, we managed to save UAH 187 million," said Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov.
When purchasing these drones, the Defence Procurement Agency uses a special framework agreement in the Prozorro system. This allows for the concealment of sensitive information about the tenderers, while ensuring that suppliers can qualify and participate at any time. On average, four bidders competed for the procurement of DJI Mavic 3E and 3T drones.
"It was important for us not only to maximise efficiency in the procurement of drones, which is why we used the Prozorro system, but also to ensure reliable supply. As a result, we held 94 tenders for small batches of Mavic drones, and 18 companies became suppliers following competitive bidding," said Maryna Bezrukova, Director of the Defence Procurement Agency.
She also added that these measures are aimed at providing the Ukrainian military with the necessary equipment to perform tasks at the front, while ensuring savings and efficient use of public funds.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Ministry of Defence has received a list of candidates from six countries for the positions of independent members of the Defence Procurement Agency's Supervisory Board.
