Special permits for subsoil use renewed for Novinsky's companies

The State Service of Geology and Subsoil has renewed special permits for the use of subsoil, including for gas production, for companies owned by former MP Vadym Novynskyi.

According to Ukrinform, the relevant order No. 293 of 26 June was published on the agency's website.

In particular, the special permits for gas production for Ukrgazvydobutok (Ostroverkhivske field) and Prom-Energo Product LLC (Vasyschyvske field) have been renewed; for granite, migmatite, and gneiss production for Smart-Granite LLC (Zaporizhzhia region). In addition, the permit for water intake in Cherkasy region was renewed for Viji Production and Viji Farming LLC and for commercial development of oil and gas fields for Arkona-Gas Energy LLC in Poltava region.

The ultimate beneficiary of all these companies is former MP Vadym Novynskyi.

The State Service of Geology and Subsoil also renewed a special permit for labradorite mining in Zhytomyr region for Korostyshivsky Quarry PrJSC and for water intake in Dnipropetrovs'k region for Potoky LLC. The ultimate beneficiary of these companies is Vadym Iermolaiev.

As reported, on 25 June, President Volodymyr Zelensky enacted the decision of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine to extend sanctions against a number of Russian companies and businessmen, as well as individuals associated with the Russian Federation, including Dmitry Firtash, Pavel Fuks, and Vadym Novynskyi.

In July 2022, the Verkhovna Rada terminated the powers of MP Novinsky. With a net worth of USD 1.4 billion, he is ranked third in the Forbes magazine's ranking of the richest Ukrainians. In 2023, the former MP's property, including corporate rights to 40 Ukrainian companies and 30 gas wells, was seized.
