
EU Council approves EUR 3.5B in aid for Ukraine – Shmyhal

The Council of the European Union has approved the allocation of EUR 3.5 billion to Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility program.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced the decision on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"These significant funds will help strengthen our country's resilience. The funds will be directed toward priority budget expenditures that are essential for our people. We are grateful to our partners for their assistance, which reinforces us and moves us forward," Shmyhal said.

He stressed that Ukraine expects a swift disbursement of the funds.
"Together, we will secure a future of peace and security in Europe," he added.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine recently received CAD 2.5 billion (about $1.7 billion) under the G7 ERA initiative.
