Customs office reveals volume of imported drones, spare parts
This was the response to Ukrinform's enquiry from the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
According to the report provided, in January-February 2025, a total of 297.1 tons of unmanned aerial vehicles were imported into Ukraine for a total of $232.36 million.
In addition, during the specified period, goods under code 8807 "Parts of aircraft of commodity positions 8801, 8802 or 8806" were imported for a total price of $43.42 million.
Last year, according to the State Customs Service, drones worth $1.17 billion were imported into Ukraine, and components for them – worth $134.8 million.
In 2023, imports of drones and components amounted to $440.7 million and $16.86 million, respectively.
Customs officials also reported on the volume of imported military and dual-use goods. Thus, in the first two months of this year, $817.5 million worth of such goods were brought into Ukraine against $7.03 billion in 2024 and $5.71 billion in 2023.
As noted by the State Customs Service, data on import volumes is formed based on electronic copies of customs declarations for the goods already cleared and included in statistical import reports.
Currently, the legislation provides for exemptions from customs duties for importing the said goods into the customs territory of Ukraine.
As reported, in February 2023, the government streamlined the import of military and dual-use goods. UAVs, their components, controls, cameras, night vision devices, optical sights for weapons, silencers, removable clips, technologies for the development, production, and repair of military products were added to the list of military and dual-use goods that can be imported by individuals and legal entities without the license from the State Export Control Service.
