Galushchenko talks Ukraine's energy security with British Ambassador

Energy Minister German Galushchenko discussed with British Ambassador to Ukraine Martin Harris areas of cooperation to strengthen the protection of Ukrainian energy facilities.

The Ministry of Energy reported this on Telegram, Ukrinform saw.

The head of the Ministry emphasized that, despite the difficult winter, Ukraine is steadily completing the heating season and is already preparing for the next one.

The parties discussed the development of solutions to strengthen Ukraine and Europe’s energy security, in particular, the prospects for using Ukrainian gas storage facilities for the needs of European Union member states.

The parties also focused on issues of financial assistance to the Ukrainian energy sector, in particular within the framework of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, which has proven itself as an effective tool for purchasing equipment for energy companies.

The parties discussed areas of cooperation to strengthen the protection of energy facilities using both active and passive protection, as well as issues of nuclear and radiation safety and the return of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant to Ukraine’s full control.

As reported, the issues of energy security in the region and the interaction of the parties to support it were discussed at a meeting between the German Galushchenko and the Director General of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighborhood Policy (DG ENEST) Jan Koopman.
