Dynamo's Maksym Koval among five best young goalkeepers in Europe
KYIV, January 16 /UKRINFORM/. Dynamo Kyiv goalkeeper Maksym Koval, a candidate for Ukraine's national football team, has been included in the list of the five best young goalkeepers in European football.
A respective rating was compiled by British journalists, who paid attention to players aged 20 years or younger, reads a statement posted on the club's official website, referring to givemefootball.com.
"Aged 16 he made his debut for Metalurh Zaporizhzhia, and kept a clean sheet. 19 games later, he moved to Dynamo Kyiv - the Ukrainian giants were so impressed by his performance against them they made his signing an urgent priority... A huge talent, with experience of continental competitions in the Europa League and a Ukraine cap under his belt already," the journalists reported.
According to the report, Eastern Europe has a reputation for producing great goalkeepers, and Koval could be the latest.
Along with Koval, the top five young goalkeepers in Europe include Germans Marc-Andre ter Stegen from Borussia Moenchengladbach, Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen, Belgian Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea, who was loaned to Atletico Madrid, and Jack Butland from Birmingham.
