Andriy Shevchenko won't play golf at Olympics 2016
KYIV, September 11 /Ukrinform/. Ukrainian football icon Andriy Shevchenko is not planning to participate in the Summer Olympics 2016, where golf will be presented for the first time in 100 years.
He told this to reporters in Kharkiv on Wednesday, according to a Ukrinform reporter.
"Now, I haven't taken any decisions. I know that many would like me to participate in the Olympics. As I always said: you need to understand and assess your strength. If you stand a chance of even playing at level of these golfers [participants in the Kharkiv Superior Cup tournament, European Challenge Tour series - ed.], it is possible that in the future you can try. So far I don't have such plans," Shevchenko emphasized.
According to him, now he plans to play golf in the status of the fan and continue studying in the school of football coaches.
Notably, if Andriy Shevchenko could get to the Olympics, he should be in TOP 100 of the world rankings.
