Ukrainian gymnast wins his first ever World Cup

KYIV, March 11 /Ukrinform/. A 21-year-old native of Donetsk, now a resident of Kyiv, Oleh Vernyayev became the first Ukrainian gymnast to win the World Cup.

The news was reported by the press service of Ukraine's National Olympic Committee on Wednesday.

"Oleh Vernyayev won all three tournaments in the World Cup series last November in Stuttgart, Germany, in December in Glasgow, the UK, and in March in Arlington, the USA," the press service said.

President of Ukraine's NOC Serhiy Bubka congratulated the World Cup winner and his personal coach Hennadiy Sartynsky, wishing the gymnast to go on winning in new competitions by demonstrating the same enthusiasm and confidence on the way to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2016.
