Rescuers put out fire in apartment building in Kyiv damaged by Russian missile strike

Rescuers from the Ukrainian State Emergency Service have extinguished the fire that broke out in an apartment building in Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyi district, which was hit by a Russian missile strike on Sunday.

According to Ukrinform, Chairman of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service Serhii Kruk said this on Facebook.

"As of 15:00, some local fires in a nine-storey residential building damaged by the shelling have been eliminated. Emergency rescue operations and dismantling of debris are underway," Kruk said.

While dismantling the rubble, three people were rescued, including a child.

Early on Sunday, June 26, several explosions rocked Ukraine's capital Kyiv, with one missile hitting a nine-storey residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district, partially destroying the 7th, 8th and 9th floors. According to preliminary reports, one person was killed and four were injured, including a woman and her child.
