Ukrainian rescuers recover 26 bodies of quake victims in Türkiye
The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian State Emergency Service on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Antakya, Türkiye. Rescuers do not give up hope of finding survivors. They check each damaged or destroyed house within their sectors of responsibility,” the report states.
Ukrainian rescuers are using geophones and telescopic cameras in order to hear and see, where a person cannot do so. Specially trained sniffer dogs are helping them in addition to advanced devices.
The search and rescue teams of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service have examined 340 buildings and structures destroyed since the rescue operation started. Ukrainian rescuers dismantled 107 rubble sites and recovered 26 bodies of victims.
A reminder that, as of February 13, 2023, the death toll in the Türkiye-Syria earthquakes exceeded 33,000 people.
