First team of Ukrainian rescuers returns from Türkiye
That’s according to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, who reported the news on Facebook, Ukrinform saw.
"For more than a week, our specialists with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine were helping their Turkish colleagues to search for people under the rubble and eliminate the consequences of earthquakes. Despite the fact that Ukraine itself is currently in the flames of war, we are ready to provide support to those in need. That’s because the strong ones are always there to help and rescue. Meanwhile, the weak are only capable of destroying and killing," he said.
The minister thanked the rescuers for their service and welcomed them on their return home.
As reported, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine sent 87 rescuers, 16 units of specialized equipment, two planes, and 10 search and rescue dogs to Türkiye following a devastating earthquake that killed dozens of thousands of people.
