Forty-one settlements remain flooded following Kakhovka HPP explosion

Forty-one settlements remain flooded in the south of Ukraine after the Russian troops blew up the Kakhovka HPP.

“In Kherson region, a decrease in the water level is observed near the Kherson post on the Dnipro River. The recorded level is 0.7 m,” the State Emergency Service of Ukraine posted on Telegram.

Six settlements remain flooded in Ukraine-controlled territory, 17 settlements are flooded in the territory temporarily captured by the Russians.

A total of 2,783 people, including 309 children and 80 people with reduced mobility, and 284 animals have been evacuated.

A total of 716 people, including 30 children and 40 people with reduced mobility, have been rescued.

More than 24,000 tonnes of water were pumped out of 82 houses and basements over the past day, and 107,000 tonnes of water have been pumped out of 413 houses and basements since the beginning of the works.

More than 401 tonnes of drinking water and 36,597 kg of food and basic necessities have been delivered.

In Mykolaiv region, 18 settlements in Bashtanka district have been partially flooded.

A total of 832 people, including 165 children, have been evacuated.

As reported, 16 people were killed died and 31 people are considered missing as a result of the Kakhovka HPP explosion committed by the invaders.
