Two Ukrainian women killed after trains collide in Czech Republic - MFA
This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry for Foreign Affairs, according to Ukrinform.
"According to preliminary information, four people died. Among them are Ukrainian citizens, the nationality of the other victims is being clarified. Another 34 people suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. Some of them were taken to medical institutions in Pardubice and Hradec Králové," the MFA said.
The press service noted that an official of the Ukrainian Consulate in Brno is at the scene and in constant contact with rescue and law enforcement agencies.
"The case is under the control of the Department of Consular Service of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs," the MFA assured.
The Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic expressed its condolences to the families of the victims and provided the hotline numbers of the Ukrainian consulates in Brno and Prague: +420 722 949 376; + 420 602-224-938.
As reported, last night a Prague-Kosice train operated by the Czech company RegioJet collided with a freight train in the Czech Republic. The train had trailer cars with passengers traveling to Chop. According to the Czech side, four people died and dozens were injured.
