German citizen sentenced to death in Belarus

According to our information, in late June, German citizen Rico Krieger was sentenced to death by Minsk Regional Court.

“According to our information, in late June, German citizen Rico Krieger was sentenced to death by Minsk Regional Court,” the statement reads.
The man was charged under the articles: “illegal actions in relation to firearms”, “disabling public transport or communication routes”, “establishment or participation in an “extremist” formation”, “agent activity”, “mercenarism” and “act of terrorism”.
It’s reported that the man has a minor child in Germany. Currently it’s unknown whether the verdict has been appealed or protested, and whether it has entered into legal force.
As reported, self-proclaimed President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has decided to introduce a temporary visa-free regime for citizens of 35 European countries.
