Russian fake about Ukrainian school: In Lviv, children learn Poland’s anthem by heart
Russian Telegram channels, Twitter social network, and some dubious pro-Russian publications are circulating a post, which is illustrated with a screenshot from an alleged chat for parents of Lviv school No. 6. The post says that the teacher allegedly informs about an open history lesson, for which the children have to learn the national anthem and the national symbols of Poland. Moreover, at the end, she writes: "There will be people from the administration. It is very important!!!" That is, it creates a connection between the "Polish topic" and the local authorities.
This is a fake. Firstly, there is no school No. 6 in Lviv, but there is Lyceum No.6 of the Lviv City Council. This was confirmed by the Lviv City Council’s education department.
Secondly, in a comment to Ukrinform, representatives of Lyceum No. 6 of the Lviv City Council said that the information regarding such home assignment for an open lesson is not true.
In addition, the current timetable of classes posted on the website of the lyceum proves that the "parents’ chat" is fake. The screenshot shows that the "open history lesson" is scheduled to start at 11:15. According to the schedule, the third lesson at school begins at 10:55, while the fourth at 11:55.
This is not the first time that Russian propagandists have used fakes about the Ukrainian school to promote the narrative about the occupation of Western Ukraine by Poland.
