EURO 2012 opening ceremony to be aired live on First National
KYIV, June 6 /UKRINFORM/. The opening ceremony for UEFA EURO 2012 on June 8 will be broadcast live on the First National television channel at 06.40 p.m., Kyiv time, the television channel's press office said in a statement on Wednesday
"The show, which will last 12 minutes, will bring together sport and culture, placing an emphasis on local traditions and innovative technology. The opening ceremony will give go-ahead to a historical event - the first continental football championship to be held in Central and Eastern Europe.
The ceremony will be attended by famous Hungarian pianist Adam Gyorgy, Italian DJ and producer DJ Karmatronic, the choreographic performance will involve more than 800 volunteers from 63 countries, the national anthems of Poland and Greece will be performed by the Academic Choir of Warsaw University.
A concept of the ceremony was developed by Marco Balich, the creative director and executive producer of the Italian company Filmmaster Events, which deals with the arrangement of such events," reads the statement.
