POLTAVA. Situated in downtown Poltava, the building housing the Poltava Museum of Local Lore strikes residents and tourists with its architectural perfection. The Art Nouveau project of famous Ukrainian artist and architect Vasyl Krychevsky became a ground-breaking event for the city upon its construction in 1908. The beautiful edifice turned into a national dominant of Poltava's architectural landscape. The facade and the interior feature a decorative composition and rich national ornaments. The building, which is now home to the Poltava Museum of Local Lore, is a true masterpiece of Ukrainian Art Nouveau.
