Oles Doniy to stand for parliament as self-nominee
KYIV, August 13 /UKRINFORM/. Ukrainian MP Oles Doniy has submitted documents to the Central Election Commission for his registration as a candidate for MP.
He announced this in an interview with a UKRINFORM correspondent.
"Today, on my birthday, I submitted documents to the CEC for my nomination as a candidate for MP. Once, when I entered the Shevchenko University, I similarly passed one of the exams on my birthday and got an excellent mark. I hope that symbolism will also work this time," Doniy said.
Doniy said that he would stand for parliament as a self-nominee in a single-member constituency. While commenting on his previous refusal to run for a single-member district due to the lack of money for the election campaign, the MP said that it was still a serious problem.
As UKRINFORM reported, Doniy received proposals to run for single-member districts from Lviv, Kolomyya, Ternopil and Lutsk.
Doniy, who turned 43 on Monday, has been in politics for over 25 years.
