European politicians disappointed with Russia's actions
KYIV, October 6 /Ukrinform/. German Government's Coordinator for Intersocietal Cooperation with Russia Gernot Erler said that European politicians are disappointed with the actions of Russia.
He said this in an interview with the Russian newspaper Kommersant.
"Now, many European politicians, including German, are disappointed with the actions of the Russian Federation and the Russian leadership. Currently, it comes to the implementation of the agreements of the Contact Group on September 5 and 19. Unfortunately, we do not see that Russia was actively involved in their implementation. In particular, from my talks in Moscow, it is not clear for me how the border will be controlled. It is obvious that in Russia there are doubts about it: suddenly a question is raised what segments of the border are meant, how far this control is spread, the theme of sovereignty of the Russian Federation is raised,” Erler stressed.
The special coordinator also noted that Russia is not putting pressure on the people, who control Donetsk and Luhansk, so that the paragraphs of agreements could be fulfilled. "Militants in Donetsk and Luhansk intend to hold their elections on November 2, which is not provided by the agreements of the contact group. This means that they treat the agreement as a step towards independence, which, after the accession of Crimea, would be a heavy blow to the territorial integrity of Ukraine," Erler said.
