Czaputowicz: Poland stands in solidarity with Ukraine amid Russia's aggression
Foreign Minister of Poland Jacek Czaputowicz said this during the presentation of the Poland’s foreign policy priorities for 2018 in the Sejm, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"The dramatic trials of Ukraine which have been entailed by Russian armed aggression cause Poland to feel a natural sense of solidarity with the people who are struggling for freedom, integrity and independence. We are convinced that the Polish-Ukrainian partnership is long-lasting and must remain as such," the foreign minister of Poland said.
Czaputowicz drew attention to the active military, defense and transport cooperation between the countries.
The Polish minister noted that the Polish airline LOT would soon operate flights to the sixth airport in Ukraine.
"We demonstrate energy solidarity with Ukraine in the light of Gazprom's decision to suspend gas deliveries to Ukraine by supplying gas through Hermanowice," the Polish diplomat said.
As the minister noted, the interpersonal contacts also intensify. According to Czaputowicz, Polish consulates issued 1.2 million visas to Ukrainians last year, and more than 35,000 Ukrainian students study at Polish higher education institutions.
