Representatives of Ukraine and Turkey in Odesa to discuss ways to increase security in Black Sea region
Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Colonel-General Petro Tsygykal wrote this on his Facebook page.
"As the head of the Border Guard Service of Ukraine, I was interested in Turkey’s experience in organizing the protection of maritime frontiers and ways to deepen inter-agency cooperation to minimize security risks in the Black Sea region. That is why the agenda included issues of jointly countering cross-border criminal gangs, human trafficking and illegal migration. In two days, we will discuss the same issues in a wider circle at the Black Sea Border Cooperation Forum in Odesa. Following the joint meeting, we should reach concrete solutions to improve the level of security in the region. Given the destructive position of Russia, the current forum will be held without the participation of its representatives," he wrote.
Today, November 5, Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Petro Tsygykal held a meeting with Commander of the Turkish Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Ahmet Kendir in Kyiv. During the meeting, the parties discussed the situation in the region, risk assessment and ongoing operations in the context of combating illegal activities in the Black Sea region.
