Zelensky not to reveal candidates for key positions before inauguration

A relevant statement was made by Yuriy Kostiuk, scriptwriter of the TV series "Servant of the People" starring Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrayinska Pravda Ukrainian online newspaper reports.

When asked whether Zelensky’s team is really not going to reveal before the inauguration the names of candidates for positions that the president has to offer, Kostiuk replied: “We cannot reveal the names of chief of the Security Service of Ukraine or, for example, prosecutor general, because it’s one thing to announce these names, while it’s another thing to appoint them. We now do not have the resources to check the candidates properly - to check whether they have relatives in Russia, what their background is, what their real biography is."

Kostiuk also noted that as soon as the Zelensky team enters the Presidential Administration, they will get access to certain information. The names of the candidates could be announced when a complete inspection will be carried out, including by the civil society activists.
