Kyiv mayor talks about meetings with Ukrainian president, head of his office

He said this at a briefing on Friday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"I had several meetings with Head of Ukraine's Presidential Office Bohdan and two meetings with Zelensky at which we discussed the key challenges facing the country, first and foremost, the dynamics of reform implementation and the fight against corruption. In this regard, the emphasis was also made on the city of Kyiv," Klitschko said.

At the same time, he did not specify whether he was offered during these meetings to resign as head of Kyiv City State Administration.

On July 24, Bohdan sent a letter to the government asking Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleksandr Sayenko to submit a motion for Klitschko's dismissal as head of Kyiv City State Administration.

Earlier, at a meeting with Zelensky, Klitschko was informed about the separation of powers in the management of the Ukrainian capital.

At the same time, according to Klitschko, separating the powers of the Kyiv mayor and the head of Kyiv City State Administration is depriving the capital of local self-government.

The Constitutional Court ruled in December 2003 that "Kyiv City State Administration should be headed only by a person elected as Kyiv's mayor."
