"When approached by CNN at the United Nations in New York, Zelensky simply responded that his conversations with President Donald Trump are 'private and confidential'," the channel reported.
According to journalists, Zelensky declined to answer if it was his understanding that American military aid for Ukraine and an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter was linked.
The report notes that when asked if he wanted the transcript of his July phone call with Trump to be released, Zelensky said, "We'll see."
Zelensky is on a working visit to the United States on September 23-25 to participate in the 74th session of the UN General Assembly.
The Ukrainian president is to address the UN General Assembly at 16:00 Kyiv time on September 25.
Zelensky is also expected to have a 45-minute meeting with Trump on September 25.
