Deputy foreign minister: Ukraine determined to continue cooperation with NATO
"We have clearly stated that our goal is to become a member of NATO. The tactics may vary, but the goal remains unchanged. I would like to confirm it here today to avoid any speculation about our determination to continue practical cooperation and integration to achieve our ultimate goal which is NATO membership," Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Yehor Bozhok said at the international conference "Hybrid Threats: Understanding, Adapting, Responding" on September 26, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
In this context, he recalled that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had held a bilateral meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York on September 24 and discussed further active cooperation with NATO.
"They coordinated steps to be taken in the near future, and one of these steps will be a visit of senior NATO representatives to Ukraine in late October. We will be happy to welcome them to Kyiv and Odesa... It will be symbolic to talk with our partners in Odesa, on the Black Sea coast, which Russia is now using as another platform to destabilize the region and even the whole world. I think that we and our NATO partners will be able to develop tools for consolidating efforts to counter the military, political and economic threats posed by the Russian Federation," the deputy minister said.
