Merkel appoints commissioner for gas transit through Ukraine

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has appointed Bernhard Graf von Waldersee as the German government's authorized representative for gas transit through Ukraine.

Ukraine's Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk informed this on his Twitter account on September 30.

"Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel appointed Bernhard Graf von Waldersee the commissioner of the German government for ensuring gas transit through Ukraine," the ambassador wrote.

At the same time, he noted that the special envoy made his first official visit to the Ukrainian Embassy in Berlin.
