Kuleba on Ukraine's relations with EU, NATO: We need each other

A general approach in Ukraine's relations with the EU and NATO is that "we need each other," Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Dmytro Kuleba has told Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

"We have a general approach in relations with the EU and NATO. It means that we don't prove why we need them, but we proceed from the fact that we need each other. And you are absolutely right that not only we take something from NATO, but also NATO takes a lot from us," he said.

"We have conducted a very thorough analysis of what this added value and unique competence of Ukraine, accumulated over the past five years, means. We have found this niche. This niche is called 'the military aspects of hybrid warfare'... Ukraine has accumulated a very serious and unique experience in the military aspects of hybrid warfare. And we will develop in this area. We will exchange experience with our colleagues in order to form a holistic concept of counteraction to hybrid threats," Kuleba added.

He also said that work on implementing NATO standards has now "significantly accelerated."
