Zelensky meets with president of Brazil

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has held a meeting with President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro during his official visit to Japan, according to the president’s press service.

“Brazil is our main trading partner in Latin America. I welcome the expansion of Brazilian companies in Ukraine and Ukrainian ones in Brazil,” Zelensky said.

The parties stressed that they wanted to expand trade between countries.

President Zelensky also proposed that the Governmental Commission be renewed in order to agree on all positions in this direction.

“We will have a large-scale privatization. We represent a lot of projects, which show that it is profitable to invest in Ukraine. I am firmly convinced that we really need to build strong relations between Ukraine and Brazil,” Zelensky said.

In addition, the parties also discussed the prospects of cooperation in the space industry. The Ukrainian side suggested restarting a joint space project using the Alcantara Launch Center.

Volodymyr Zelensky also thanked Brazil for supporting Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

“Jair Bolsonaro invited Volodymyr Zelensky to Brazil and agreed to his invitation to visit Ukraine next year,” reads the report.

As Ukrinform reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky on October 21-24 is on an official visit in Japan where he attended the ceremony of enthronement of the Japanese emperor.
