Government intends to teach six mln Ukrainians digital literacy in three years

“Digital literacy today means the basis of country's competitiveness in the world. This is a challenge we are taking. In the next three years, we plan to teach at least six million Ukrainians to use and develop their digital skills. It's a huge figure, it's a huge ambition, but it's something that brings us closer to the highest digital standards,” Honcharuk said during the presentation of Diia (Action) mobile app and the national digital literacy platform "Diia: Digital Education”, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

According to him, only 9% of Ukrainians now use online public state services, while 91% do not use online tools to engage with the state.

The prime minister also noted that the national online platform “Diia. Digital Education” would play a serious role in that. There are several sections waiting for users there: basic digital literacy, "Internet Safety for Children" for teachers and parents. Five more course categories will be available soon, Honcharuk added.

As Ukrinform reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky presented the mobile app Diia (Action), which is already available in Apple Store and Google Play. The app allows nine million Ukrainians to use their driving licenses and vehicle registration certificates in a smartphone.
