
Ukraine interested in Italy's more active involvement in Donbas settlement - Foreign Ministry
This issue was discussed at the talks between Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko and Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Luigi Di Maio in Rome on February 10, according to the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
"During the conversation, the sides discussed practical steps to implement the agreements reached during the meetings of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky with the leadership of the Italian Republic on February 7. Special attention was paid to the development of trade, economic, investment cooperation and Italy's more active involvement in establishing a peace process in Donbas and rebuilding the region's infrastructure," the report said.
According to the press service, Prystaiko also stressed that Ukraine is interested in further intensification of cooperation in such areas as energy, space, health care, transport, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation.
Di Maio expressed the firm position of the Italian government on support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and said Italy was ready to help the Ukrainian state implement systemic reforms, the report said.
