Zelensky thanks Finland’s president for ensuring safety of Ukrainian labor migrants

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has thanked President of Finland Sauli Niinisto for ensuring safety of Ukrainian seasonal workers during the coronavirus pandemic.
“Thanked President of Finland Sauli Niinisto for the safety of Ukrainian seasonal workers through COVID-19 and for bringing labor migration out of the shadows. I welcome the agreement on legal contracts for 3+ months, medical insurance and comfortable working conditions during the quarantine,” Zelensky wrote on his Twitter account.
As Ukrinform reported, on April 29, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated that the Ukrainian government was ready to hold talks with European countries on the official employment of Ukrainian seasonal workers.

On April 23, about 200 Ukrainian citizens left for Finland for seasonal works by a charter flight. The flight was organized at the request of Finnish farmers.
