Dzhaparova becomes first deputy foreign minister

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has appointed Emine Dzhaparova to the post of first deputy minister of foreign affairs.

The relevant decision was made at a government meeting on Wednesday, June 10, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba wrote on Facebook.

"The Government has appointed Emine Dzhaparova (Emine Dzheppar) as first deputy foreign minister. A strong player has joined our team," Kuleba wrote.

He added that she will be responsible for public diplomacy, international organizations, the state protocol and Crimea.

Emine Dzhaparova is a Ukrainian journalist of Crimean Tatar origin.

Since April 2016, she held the position of first deputy minister of information policy.

On September 2, 2019, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution on the optimization of central authorities, according to which the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports was created on the basis of the Ministry of Information Policy, with the tasks and functions of the liquidated Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Youth and Sports.

On September 5, 2019, the Government dismissed Dzhaparova from the post of first deputy minister of information policy.
