Oleh Urusky appointed as Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted the resolution on the appointment of Oleh Urusky as Vice Prime Minister - Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine.

The corresponding decision was supported by 250 lawmakers, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"To appoint Oleh Urusky to the position of Vice Prime Minister - Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine," the resolution reads.

Oleh Urusky is Doctor of Engineering Science, laureate of the State Science and Technology Prize, academician of the International Academy of Aeronautics.

In 1993-1996, Urusky headed the department at the State Space Agency of Ukraine; in 1996-2000 - the department in the staff of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. In 2000-2003, Urusky held the position of First Deputy Chairman of the State Commission for Defense and Industry of Ukraine. In 2003-2005, he headed the department at the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers. In 2005, Oleh Urusky was appointed as the First Deputy Industrial Policy Minister. From January 21 to August 19, 2015, Urusky became the Head of the State Space Agency of Ukraine. In April 2020, he headed the Progrestech-Ukraine engineering company.
