Ukrainian-Qatari investment projects to intensify economic cooperation – Senik

“On August 26, 2020, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Senik met with Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Ukraine Hadi Nasser Al-Hajri. The sides discussed a wide range of issues on the agenda of Ukrainian-Qatari relations, focusing on the implementation of joint projects in infrastructure, energy, agriculture and aviation sectors,” the Foreign Ministry’s press service reported.

Senik emphasized that the signing of an agreement on the transfer of Olvia Port to Qatar’s QTerminals, which took place on August 20, 2020, was the starting point for the implementation of large-scale joint investment projects.

He also confirmed the readiness of the Ukrainian side to receive the Emir of the State of Qatar in the country.

The parties stressed the need to hold, after the lifting of existing restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the second meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Qatari Commission on Economic, Trade and Technical Cooperation, which would provide additional impetus to the intensification of bilateral economic cooperation.
