Exit poll shows how Ukrainians answer President Zelensky's five questions

Ukraine’s right to use the security guarantees set out in the Budapest Memorandum has been supported by 78% of those who took part in local elections and in a nationwide poll initiated by President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to an exit poll conducted by the Rating sociological group.

Director of the Rating sociological group Oleksiy Antypovych said this at a press conference while presenting the results of the exit poll on Sunday evening, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The right of Ukraine to use the security guarantees set out in the Budapest Memorandum is supported by 78% of those who participated in the elections and in the poll, while 10% do not support it, 12% found it difficult to answer. At the same time, 56% of those who took part in the elections but did not participate in the poll support this idea, 13% do not support, and 31% found it difficult to answer,” the poll says.

According to the exit poll, the legalization of medical cannabis in Ukraine to reduce the pain of seriously ill patients is supported by 70% of those who participated in the elections and in the poll, and 24% do not support it. Among those who took part in the elections but did not participate in the President’s poll there are 52% who support this idea, 28% do not support it, and 20% found it difficult to answer.

The introduction of life imprisonment for large-scale corruption is supported by 81% of those who participated in the elections and in the poll, while 16% do not support it. Among those who took part only in the elections there are 63% who support this idea, 21% do not support, and 16% have not decided.

At the same time, the idea of creating a free economic zone in Donbas is supported by 45% of those who participated in the elections and in the poll, while 43% do not support it, and 12% have not decided. Some 33% of those who took part only in the elections support this idea, 39% do not support it, and 28% have not decided.

The reduction of the number of members of the Verkhovna Rada to 300 is supported by 95% of those who participated in the elections and in the poll, while 4% do not support it. Among those who took part only in the elections there are 81% who support this idea, 7% do not support it, and 13% have not decided.

Among the polling stations covered by a sociological survey of the Rating sociological group there are 69% of the stations in which the poll initiated by President Zelensky was conducted. At polling stations where the poll was not conducted, the majority of voters (67%) answered that they would have taken part in it if it had been conducted.

In total, according to the survey, voters of the Servant of the People party participated most actively in the President’s poll (63% of voters participated, 37% did not take part in it), and voters of the European Solidarity party were the least active (27% participated, 73% did not take part in the poll).
