Ukraine's ambassadors abroad should promote their country's integration into the European Union in the capitals of the host countries through Ukraine's accession to new EU markets and interregional initiatives, according to Olha Stefanishyna, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.

"Today, your role is much more important than ever, because today is the period when European integration is impossible without the support of the capitals, without the support of EU member states," Stefanishyna said during an online conference with Ukrainian ambassadors.

According to her, a number of changes paving the way for Ukraine to European integration in "have already been made."

Stefanishyna said that Ukraine "ceases to be an object of geopolitical changes and an object in regional policy, and becomes a subject."

According to her, this subjectivity is manifested in the fact that "we take a proactive position in the development of joint logistics, in our integration into the EU energy area, an active position on Ukraine's involvement in interregional initiatives."

"The promotion of these initiatives is important not through Brussels, not through Kyiv, but through your capitals," she said.
