Ukraine is absolutely confident of Japan's stance on maintaining full-fledged sanctions against Russia until the Russian side fulfills all the conditions for lifting them.

"We are constantly maintaining dialogue on a wide range of issues with our Japanese partners, and we are absolutely confident of the stance of our Japanese friends on sanctions. Until the Russian side fulfills all the necessary preconditions for the return of the temporarily occupied territories, for the restoration of peace in Donbas, easing sanctions is not considered," Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhenii Yenin said at the forum “Asia Strategy in Action. The Role of Ukraine-Japan Cooperation”, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He added that Ukraine is in dialogue with all international partners on maintaining sanctions against Russia. In this context, the diplomat recalled that the Government of Australia had recently made a decision to extend the sanctions regime against legal entities and individuals of the Russian Federation for the next three years.

"This dialogue is ongoing, and today I fully share the view that we do not see any threats to the sanctions regime against the aggressor," the deputy minister said.

In turn, Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine Takashi Kurai assured that "there have never been any serious talks on lifting sanctions against Russia."
