Ukraine, Qatar agree on mutual recognition of diplomas, seafarer certificates

The document was signed during the official visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the State of Qatar on Monday, April 5, according to the Ministry of Infrastructure.

"Today's memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Qatar opens a window of new opportunities for further professional development of our seafarers. The memorandum will create an appropriate legal mechanism for the mutual recognition of diplomas and certificates of seafarers between our countries. What is important is that it will promote further employment of Ukrainian sailors on board ships flying the flags of the State of Qatar," Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Kryklii said.

The memorandum provides for the settlement of the issue of areas and forms of cooperation between Ukraine and Qatar in the field of maritime transport and education.

President Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife, Olena Zelenska, are on an official visit to Qatar on April 5.
