MFA working on implementing agreements reached in U.S. - Kuleba
Minister for Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba said this during an hour of questions to the Government held in the Verkhovna Rada on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“Following President Zelensky's visit, relations between Ukraine and the United States have been at their peak as never before in many years. However, this is not the end of the work, but the beginning of a qualitatively new stage. We are actively working on implementing many ambitious agreements reached in Washington," said the minister.
He stressed that the president's visit to the United States was comprehensive and successful, noting that it was not a "courtesy visit."
“A meeting of the renewed and strengthened Commission on Strategic Partnership between our countries, which has not met for three years, chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the U.S. Secretary of State, will take place soon," Kuleba said.
He also stressed that the commission is a certain tool for obtaining support from the United States in the security and defense sectors, investment in Ukraine.
As reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky was on an official visit in the United States from August 31 until September 5.
On September 9, Kuleba stated that the Ukrainian part of Ukraine-U.S. Strategic Partnership Commission had identified three main tasks for its further work: reform of the commission, submitting the Ukrainian draft of a new Charter of Strategic Partnership to the American side, developing a plan for the transformation of Ukraine.
