Reznikov: Normandy format parties discuss participation of new German Chancellor in summit

"We understand that the partners are ready, and they – the German and French sides – confirmed that their leaders were ready for this meeting. And they are ready to do everything through direct bilateral talks with the Kremlin leader to invite him to this summit in Berlin. Moreover, we discussed not only the summit in Berlin with the participation of Federal Chancellor Merkel but also the possible next summit in Paris with the participation of the new German Chancellor ... After Merkel hands over power to the new chancellor, there will be only one Normandy format leader who remembers what happened in 2015," Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov said in the program "Freedom of Speech" on ICTV channel, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

He added that the agenda of the Normandy format summit had been touched upon also.

As reported, the previous Normandy format summit took place in Paris on December 9, 2019.

Since then, only meetings of political advisers to the leaders of the Normandy format countries have been taking place.
